February is over and so is the second month of my A to Z Reading Challenge. Month two did not go quite as well as the first and I blame Apsley Cherry-Garrard. I just couldn’t seem to slog my way through his Worst Journey and therefore didn’t get to finish my required reading (commence any mocking comments now). My plan is to read another book (likely Gregor The Overlander by Suzanne Collins) in March to make up for it. I haven’t given up on Worst Journey forever, just for now. Here’s how the month went:
Books Read
City of Thieves – David Benioff
The Tea Rose – Jennifer Donnelly
Best Book of the Month
Next Up
In March I’ll be reading:
The Name of the Rose – Umberto Eco
A Fine Balance – Rohinton Mistry
What did you read this month?

Hi Jessi – I DID read Gregor the Overlander in Mexico and proceeded to read up to the 5th book while I was there….I really got stuck on the series.
I also read Thirteen Reasons Why and thought it was okay, but a little depressing.
Thank you for writing this blog – It gets me interested in new and different authors!
Wendy
That’s a great recommendation for the Underlander series so I’ll definitely make number one my second book for C.
I agree with you about 13 Reasons Why. I really enjoyed the book ad found myself reading as quickly as possible to find out what Clay had done but the ending was hard. Even though it was impossible I really wanted for Hanah’s parents to have found her in time, saved her and secreted her off somewhere (which was why they hadn’t returned home from “burrying” her) but still sent the tapes out to teach Hanah’s tormentors a lesson. After realizing how much more help she could have gotten it was heart breaking that she walked away from it all.
I am SO glad you’re enjoying the blog and getting book recommendations from it. I’ll definitely keep reviewing!
I can’t wait to hear your review of A Fine Balance. That is my absolute favorite book of all time.
Awesome Heather! After I read it maybe we can grab some coffee and have a chat about it?
